Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Metacognition is one of important topics in educational engineering. In this research, "Metacognitive monitoring activities" is focused and a method of quantification of meta-cognition is investigated. Metacognition is defined as follows. Thoughts and feelings of self-monitoring is a "metacognition". Including a meta-cognition in own surrounding space is "Meta^2 cognition. Metacognition is needed to revise own thinking and has been expected to improve self-learning ability. In this paper, EFAM (Emotional Fractal-dimension Analysis Method) is used to classify three difference cognitive states ("resting", "metacognition", and "meta^2 cognition"). EEG of each state is analyzed using scaling property of variance, and property of EEG during each state is estimated fractal dimension. In order to investigate difference of EEG property between cognition and recall, three cognitive states and three subjects of recall are analyzed by EFAM and recognition rate of each state is calculated and adjusted coefficient is computed using Self-Organizing Map. The estimated method which is achieved by adjusted recognition rate using EFAM and SOM is proposed.
