Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, most of PCs employ Spread Spectrum Clocking (SSC) to satisfy a regulation of emission. The SSC spreads the spectrum of PC's clock. Therefore, the influence to the digital television (TV) signal is not reduced by the SSC because the digital TV signal uses wider spectrum than that of the SSC. In this report, the influence of SSC to the digital TV signal was evaluated by comparing it with the influence to the analogue TV signal when a frequency modulation (FM) signal was impressed to the analogue and digital TV signal simultaneously by using that the digital and analogue TV broadcast the same program in Japan until 2011. The FM signal was used instead of the SSC signal and the received image quality was evaluated by the mean opinion score (MOS). The ratio of the disturbance to the TV signal level (DU ratio) was used as the parameter, and the quasi peak level was used to calculate the DU ratio. The results indicated that the influence of the receiving level was small in the case of both digital and analogue TV signals, the influence to the digital TV by the disturbance frequency is larger than the influence to the analogue TV, the influence to the digital TV by employing the SSC is larger than the influence to the analogue TV, and the influence of the digital TV by the spectrum width of the FM signal is large when the width is more than 4MHz. The investigation also indicated that the DU ratio of the digital TV, when MOS was 3, was 20dB lower than that of the analogue TV by the evaluation method used in this report.
