Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this report, we present an efficient monitoring method for getting useful information from sources in a large-scale network. Generally, information accumulated in a network is being updated or becoming obsolete as time passes. And user's utility, which is obtained by the users when they get their target information, declines with elapsed time from instance of placing retrieval request or information renewal. Furthermore, the maximum values of user's utility vary depending on the combination of users and their target information. Therefore, we propose a monitoring method which drives at maximizing user's utility totally by means of selecting appropriate information sources at appropriate moment, and also show its availability by computer simulations.
