Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The number of accounts of Second Life that is one of 3D virtual spaces increases still exceeding 16 million people. The users in English-speaking countries account for about 51%. Then, the language used to chat with a foreigner is chiefly English. However, a lot of users who cannot speak English well. Language differences pose significant barriers to mutual communications. We have developed two bilingual dictionary making systems to improve the performance of machine translation. We performed dictionary registration experiments on Web and Second Life. From the result of the experiments, we found that the work procedure on Second Life is more on Web. The advantage of Second Life is to be able to register on site. The disadvantage of Web is to influence registration by the opening of a new window.
