Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) HARQ is employed for the 3GPP E-UTRA downlink. ACK/NACK signals from each mobile terminal are multiplexed by CDMA, and transmitted via a PUCCH(Physical Uplink Control CHannel). If the base station detects a NACK signal from the mobile terminal, it re-transmits the downlink data by IR(Incremental Redundancy) which has more gain, since the mobile terminal already stores the received signals of the first transmission. On the other hand, if the base station does not detect NACK nor ACK signals, it re-transmits the same signals to the mobile terminal because it is assumed that the mobile terminal failed to receive the control signal for the assignment of the first transmission. In this manner, in order to utilize the IR gain as much as possible, the base station not only detects the ACK/NACK signals but also detects the termination of the transmission of the ACK/NACK signals from the mobile stations, which is so-called "DTX(Discontinuous Transmission) detection." However, there is a problem that the DTX detection performance is greatly affected by inter-code interferences in the PUCCH. In this paper, we propose to apply the constellation scrambling for ACK/NACK signals, and consider a new DTX detection scheme in order to enhance the DTX detection performance even with severe inter-code interference effects.
