Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper aims to investigate the effect of presence of cue tone on the psychophysical frequency selectivity. Masked thresholds with/without presenting cue tone in two types of simultaneous masking experiments were measured and the shapes of auditory filters were then estimated from these data. Cue tone was used the same way as the probe signal. In the first experiment, notched-noise simultaneous masking experiments with/without presenting cue tone were carried out. Tuning of the auditory filter was estimated from the measured masked thresholds. As the result, it was shown that filter-Qs increased about 1.5 times and the psychophysical frequency selectivity is affected by the effect of the presence of cue tone. In the second experiment, band-pass noise simultaneous masking experiments with/without presenting cue tone were carried out. Tuning of the auditory filter was also estimated derived from the measured masked thresholds. The results showed that tuning of the tip filter with cue tone is shaper than that of the filter without cue tone. It suggested that the presence of cue tone may affect the improvements in psychophysical frequency selectivity, and the range of the improvements is limited to around signal frequency.
