| 抄録(和) | 同時通訳は逐次通訳に比べて時間効率が良いため,国際会議などで広く用いられている。しかし,通訳者はある言語を聞いて理解しながら同時に他の言語を話さなくてはならないため,その認知的負荷が高い。筆者等は,元発話をオンラインで録音しながら,必要に応じて再生を止めたり再生速度を速めたりできる同時通訳支援システム「is」を開発している。本研究では,日英語通訳において,このようなシステムの使用が訳の正確さ・なめらかさや訳出時間に与える影響を4人の通訳者を対象に調べた実験について報告する。さらに,「is」の手話通訳支援への応用可能性について考察する。 |
| 抄録(英) | We have been developing a system to assist simultaneous interpretation by introducing merits of consecutive interpretation. While recording a speaker's voice, it replays the voice. Interpreters can stop the replay at any given point in time and restart after interpretation. This approach will free interpreters from simultaneously engaging in multiple tasks, such as listening to the original speech, comprehending it, translating it into another language and speaking out. We examined the effects of the system on English-Japanese interpretation using four trained interpreters. With the system, the accuracy and the fluency of interpretations improved. However, it took interpreters more than twice as long as the interpretations in traditional methods. We report our efforts to reduce the time delay and discuss the possibility of applying the system to sign language interpretation. |
