| Abstract(in English) | Due to the requirements of simulations of large scale wireless networks, functions expected for network simulators has been becoming more complicated and the parameter space has becoming larger. Thus, environments for rapid model development, batch execution and data analysis are important as well as speeding up the simulation engine for executing simulations and analyzing the results. The author has used multiple network simulators, ns2 GloMoSim, qualnet, OPNET and JiST/SWANS for researches mainly on wireless ad hoc networks since 1998. This paper discusses hopes for network simulators from user's viewpoint based on the authors experience with simulations with students at a university. |
