Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, IP multicast networks are deployed widely as an efficient way to use network resources replacing unicast networks because network nodes need to be deployed in a distributed manner to avoid access concentration in unicast networks. In order to operate an IP multicast network with enough stability and reliability, it is important to be able to check if bandwidth required by a user is actually available without causing any impact on the user's traffic. This is especially important in carrier environment. This paper proposes several methods for estimating available bandwidth easily in IP multicast networks to be used by carriers. Evaluation of the proposed methods shows effectiveness of the proposed methods. Then, comparison among the proposed methods follows.
