Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Nerve fiber tractgraphy using magnetic resonance diffusion tensor images is suggested as one method in order to estimate functional connectivity between brain active areas measured by fMRI. In general, tractgraphy methods are able to track nerve fibers between near areas. However, it is difficult to track nerve fibers between distant areas via corpus callosum due to partial volume effect in nerve fiber crossing areas. In this study, we proposed a new method using NURBS curve to interpolate nerve fibers in fiber crossing areas and standard deviation of curvature to estimate similarity of nerve fibers. The method was evaluated by simulation images. The results demonstrate the usefulness of the present method.
