Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have been developing a computerized detection method of lung nodules based on volumetric curvature, and our method employs surface feature-based false positive reduction based on Mahalanobis distance. In the preliminary study, it was revealed that some of ground-glass opacity (GGO) nodules with low-contrast resulted in false negative due to the binarization for detecting nodules and vessels. In this study, we investigated a local adaptive thresholding for detecting GGO nodules with low contrast.
