Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Automatic eigentemplate learning is discussed for sparse eigentemplate tracker. In the learning phase, a small number of representative and effective images are selected from a learning sequence when the target object is tracked by an adaptive sparse template tracker. Eigentemplate is gradually updated during the adaptive tracking along with the image selection. Once the eigentemplate learning is accomplished, the sparse template tracker can work with the eigentemplate instead of an adaptive template. Experimental results show our scheme is effective for pose changes and for illumination changes, respectively.
