Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Eigenmode expansions of the fields propagating in waveguides are important on the analyses of waveguide devices to consider the termination conditions and the device connections. This paper presents a novel approach of the eigenmode analysis of two-dimensional photonic crystal waveguides formed by circular cylinders. The present formulation is based on the Fourier series expansion method and the recursive transition-matrix algorithm by introducing an periodic boundary condition, and make it possible to calculate both the guided and the decay modes.
