Abstract(in English) | Eigenmode expansions of the fields propagating in waveguides are important on the analyses of waveguide devices to consider the termination conditions and the device connections. This paper presents a novel approach of the eigenmode analysis of two-dimensional photonic crystal waveguides formed by circular cylinders. The present formulation is based on the Fourier series expansion method and the recursive transition-matrix algorithm by introducing an periodic boundary condition, and make it possible to calculate both the guided and the decay modes. |
