Consideration for Optimization of Radiation Characteristics of a Microstrip Patch Antenna with Metamaterial Substrate

Abstract(in English) This paper presents a consideration of optimization of a microstrip patch antenna with metamaterial substrate. Introducing the Lorentz model and the ADE-FDTD method, we can calculate far field patterns and return loss of the antenna are obtained. From the numerical results, we show the effectiveness of a proposed antenna design method which is based on a frequency characteristic of refractive index of the metamaterial substrate.
