Lowest Power Consumption Polymer Thermo-optic Photonic Switch

Abstract(in English) We present a compact, very low power consumption, polarization independent, and relatively high-speed polymer Mach-Zehnder 2x2 photonic switch. Our thermo-optic switch operates at 4mW of power consumption via a small-area thin film heater. The polarization independent switching crosstalk is less than -25dB while the switching rise and fall times obtained are 90 microseconds and 160 microseconds, respectively.
