Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose a fast and efficient method that detects moving objects. In order to achieve the fast performance, we use a GPU (Graphics Processing Unit). Since a GPU can execute the same calculation to each pixel at high speed, the object-detection method with the ABM (Adaptive Background Model) and the MSC (Margined Sign Correlation), a pixel-based method, can speed up by using a GPU. We show the experimental results using 720×486 color videos in order to verify that the object-detection process with ABM and MSC can be computed on the GPU over 9 times faster than the CPU.
