Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Study has been conducted for the super-wide-range microphone which covers the frequency range up to 100kHz and has low intrinsic noise level, aiming for high-quality archiving of broadcast materials or for the use with new recording media such as SACD or DVD-Audio capable of recording sound with very high frequency components. We have successfully developed the omni-directional type and are now developing the cardioid one. The present paper discusses the design issues of the cardioid type super-wide-range microphone, particularly on omni-directional capsule and bi-directional capsule composing this cardioid microphone. The design used Mizoguchi's method developed for directional condenser microphones. First we introduce the design method of omni-directional microphone by extending the method to omni-directional one, and applied it to our omni-directional super-wide-range capsule. Next we conducted the design of bi-directional capsule to match the specifications of the omni-directional one by directly applying the method.
