Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In wireless ad-hoc networks, not only the next node but farther nodes on a route frequently receives the data packets due to the change of radio propagation. By using this opportunity, more efficient and reliable multi-hop transmission is possible. In this paper, a Dynamic Multi-Hopping method is proposed to improve transmission quality and save radio resources in wireless ad hoc networks. By autonomously abbreviating hop path and enabling path-selection diversity between a shortcut path and normal two-hop path, transmission reliability improvement and reduction of unnecessary transmission are achieved. Enhancements in network layer and MAC layer are also proposed with examples for IEEE 802.11 MAC and AODV routing. Performance of this method is analyzed in Packet Success Probability and Transmission Delay. Effect of the proposed method is investigated by using statistics obtained from a network simulator.
