Abstract(in English) The block-spread CDMA (BS/CDMA) communication system has received much attention as an MUI-free system even under the multi-path environments. Recently MMSE receivers with adaptive antenna arrays for the BS/CDMA have been proposed, which use the sample average pilot-aided channel estimation. In this paper, we attempt to introduce the pilot-aided ML channel estimation in order to improve the estimation accuracy. Moreover, we can obtain an ML channel estimation scheme by employing the decision-directed based operation. Computer simulations are conducted, and the effectiveness of the proposed method is shown in terms of SINR and BER characteristics.
