Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The ultra wideband radar is one of the key devices because of its detection capability within 30m having a fine resolution less than 0.1m even in the bad weather condition. On the other hand, the occupation bandwidth achieves more than 500MHz, which leads some restrictions of penetration and elevation emission not to interfere other systems sharing frequency band. Intended frequency bands are quasi-millimeter wave band (24GHz-band and 26GHz-band), and millimeter wave band (79GHz-band). Especially, the parts of quasi-millimeter wave band are suitable for the sensor of monitoring periphery of vehicle installed in the low-price vehicle because handling is easier than that of millimeter wave band. The automotive manufacturer has begun to install those quasi-millimeter wave UWB radars. In this paper, the regulatory status in Japan is reported regarding the activity of the UWB radar task group, which starts to investigate about interference to the existing systems in December 2006, in the MIC (Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications).
