Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) For development of radio communication systems, it is necessary to evaluate the systems using a practical channel model with respect to signal propagation. The propagation characteristics of a microwave and an ultra wideband (UWB) channel are usually evaluated by measurements obtained via a channel sounding. Therefore, developments of a channel sounder obtained high quality measurements and a more accurate channel estimation scheme are challenging aspects of understanding complex propagation environments. Recently, different channel parameters are required to model more practical propagation environments. Then, parameters of three dimensions, time, frequency and space, are required to understand a radio propagation mechanism, which are obtained by the channel sounder with antenna arrays. The practical channel sounding is required a precise channel estimation scheme as well as an ordinary radio transmitter/receiver technology. This paper presents an outline of recent channel sounding technologies, and a newly developed UWB channel estimation technology and its demonstration in indoor static channel environments.
