Abstract(in English) | Electronic money has been developed independently in Japan and other many countries. For NFC, which is compatible with FeliCa, is defined as an international standard, a market of its settlement services is expected to expand to foreign countries. This article shows a prospect of the overseas expansion by Japanese electronic money entrepreneurs. As research targets, electronic money companies specializing in the settlement services and mobile phone companies running electronic money business are assumed. The possibility for the expansion of the possible member stores and users in China are studied. Additionally, roles and possibilities of mobile phone as a medium of electronic money are considered. |
