Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Network Mobility (NEMO) is a method using the Internet inside cars or trains. NEMO achieves a maximum of 54Mbps throughput, but it frequently causes intolerable handoff time. Althought it is possible to reduce the handoff time by using F-HMIPv6 for NEMO, but it cannot run with a high-speed mobile terminals such as Shinkansen. We propose a fast handoff method by using NEMO for high-speed mobile terminals. By means of the proposed method, the MR (Mobile Router) in the train gets IP address of the next AP (Access Point) before receiving the L2 beacon by using train's speed informetion. The proposed method enables fast handoff with MAP (Mobile Anchor Point) for high-speed mobile terminals such as Shinkansen. We demonstrate advantages of our method by means of simulation results using NS-2.
