Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) To realize RZ-DQPSK modulation format, automatic bias control (ABC) is one of the key technology. We organize ABC scheme for RZ-DQPSK, and propose a monitor and control method for π/2 phase shifter between I and Q arms of the DQPSK modulator. Since this new method can work without dither signal, a highly accurate control is achieved without additional degradation to the transmitter signal. We have calculated the amount of Q-penalty due to bias change and confirmed the operating principle of new control method by simulations for 112Gb/s polarization multiplexing RZ-DQPSK.
