Abstract(in English) We mesured the frequency chirp properties induced by semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOAs) by a practical method using an optical bandpass filter (BPF). Additionally, we mesured the chirp properties of the SOA-based wavelength converter. Transmission characteristics of the converted signal pulse was investigated using tunable dispersion compensator module for various dispersion values. From these measurements, we studied the properties of chirped signals converted by SOA.
