Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes a method for non-reference objective quality evaluation of noise-reduced speech. First, a subjective quality evaluation experiment is performed in accordance with ITU-T Rec. P.835 to obtain the speech quality, the noise quality, and the overall quality of noise-reduced speech samples. Then we show that the overall quality can be accurately estimated from the speech quality and the noise quality, and propose an overall quality estimation model based on this fact. The feature of the proposed model is that it is based on not physical parameters extracted from speech but constant subjective qualities. Second, we propose a method for non-reference objective quality evaluation using the proposed model. Experimental results with various noise reduction algorithms and noise types confirmed that the proposed method gives an accurate estimate compared with ITU-T Rec. P.563.
