Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have analyzed neuronal activities of the monkey anterior intraparietal area (AIP) and ventral premotor cortex (F5) to reveal how the brain represents information related to hand manipulation. We calculated mutual information (MI) between activities of 122 single neurons and various clusters of 6 objects, and examined how MI changed dependent on different periods in hand manipulation task and the temporal relationship among the information processings in these neurons. The result of this analysis gives us a clue to understand the information stream in the AIP and F5 areas during visumomotor transformation.
