Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents an investigation on radio parameters and physical channel structures for proposed Layered OFDMA radio access in Long Term Evolution (LTE)-Advanced, which is the candidate radio interface for IMT-Advanced in the 3^ Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) as well as an advanced radio interface of LTE. Layered OFDMA comprises layered transmission bandwidth assignment, support for layered environments, and a layered control signalling structure, and can efficiently support a wider bandwidth maintaining the backward compatibility with LTE and achieve a higher system performance according to various radio environments. Furthermore, we propose radio parameters in frequency domain for Layered OFDMA radio access to achieve both efficient transmission/reception using a single Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and simultaneous access with existing LTE user equipments (UEs). Moreover, we propose basic physical channel structures for Layered OFDMA radio access to provide optimum signal structures for LTE-Advanced UE with wider transmission/reception bandwidth capability.
