A Proposal and Comparison with Two Reference Calibration Methods for Circular Loop Antenna in Low-Frequency band

Abstract(in English) In this study, we propose two reference calibration methods for small circular loop antennas. Recently, loop antennas are used for measuring magnetic fields radiating from electrical devices and around wires, e.g., high-voltage wires of electric power companies, induction heating (IH) systems, power line communication (PLC) systems, radio frequency identification (RF-ID) tag systems, and RF shoplifting alarm systems; further, they are also used for observing signals for radio-controlled clocks. Therefore, there has been a significant increase in the demand for calibrations of loop antennas to measure those magnetic fields in low-frequency bands. In order to meet these recent demands, the antenna factor of the receiving loop antenna must be determined easily and quickly. On the other hand, a calibration method is necessary to be reasonably traceable to the standard of magnetic antenna factor. Our proposed methods can establish and keep traceability to it. We also compare the two proposed reference calibration methods and show that they are efficient in calibrating loop antennas.
