Improvement of magnetic and R/W performance by annealing on Co-Pt-TiO_2 granular films for perpendicular magnetic recording media

Abstract(in English) Annealing effects on magnetic, crystallographic and recording performance for Co-Pt-TiO_2 perpendicular recording media are investigated. Proper annealing temperature and duration improve medium characteristics such as crystal orientation, steep magnetization loop with ΔH_c/H_c reduction and SNR enhancement of the media and so on. It is revealed that these improvements come from medium uniformity in microstructure by annealing.
