Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Application Level Multicast (ALM) constructs delivery multicast tree using logical link without considering physical network property. Therefore, A route in the multicast tree using logical link may be inefficient route on physical network. The use of inefficient route generate redundant traffic, and redundant traffic affects network bandwidth. To overcome this problem, we propose constructing backbone tree called virtual backbone (VB) for considering physical network property before constructing delivery multicast tree. We study required relay capability for peers comprising VB in order that VB effectively works and improves bandwidth utilization efficiency.
