Abstract(in English) | The UGC (User Generated Content) VoD services such as YouTube are becoming more and more popular, and the maintenance cost grows as well. Many P2P solutions have been proposed to save server load in such systems, but almost all of them focused on the single-video approach, which is not suitable for the UGC services. In this paper, we investigate the potential of a very simple multi-video approach called collaborative caching. We also study the influence of the major design factors through simulations, and provide some guidelines for building systems using collaborative caching efficiently. |
