Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A relay station is effective device to set in the indoor to achieve the stable communication quality on the environment where direct signal strength is weak. The use of the relay station is also effective to reduce the load of the amplifier on the terminal when the cellular system uses uplink OFDM like WiMAX In such case, the relay has an advantage to reduce the transmit power of the uplink even if a direct signal is reached to the mobile station from base station in the downlink. However the downlink communication increases the redundant relay packets due to the useless packet generation in the downlink. Therefore, in this research, we propose an asymmetryy relay method of the uplink downlink. This method requests a retransmission of errored downlink signals to the relay station only when a packet error occurs in a mobile station. Furthermore, we introduce a novel relay method using punctured convolutional code to reduce the traffic reduction by retransmitting only a punctured bit from a relay station at the time of a retransmission. In addition, we propose a method which controls the encoding rate by a communication status between the base station and the relay station, and base station and the mobile station adaptively.
