Abstract(in English) | It is expected that mobile, terminals equipped with both wireless LAN and 3G cellar interface play a role of wireless LAN gateway. IEEE 802.11 had never provided a power saving method for access points because it is assumed that access points would always be supplied with electric power supply. However power consumption of access points is critical issue when mobile terminals work as access points. In this paper we propose a power saving method for wireless LAN access points. Our proposed method enables access points to. enter the Dose state by setting appropriate NAV value in beacon frames. Simulation results show that our proposed method can reduce power consumption, while maintaining communication quality. |
