Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) HARQ (Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request) is employed for the 3GPP E-UTRA downlink. The ACK/NACK signals from each mobile terminal are multiplexed by means of CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) and transmitted via PUCCH (Physical Uplink Control CHannel). The ACK/NACK signals are code spread by the cyclic shift CAZAC (Constant Amplitude Zero Auto-Correlation) sequences, however, the orthogonality of these sequences is not guaranteed and the amount of the inter-code interference depends on the delay spread of the channel and the transmission timing control error of each UE. In the conventional PUCCH structure, the interference between two ACK signals does not degrade the detection performance of them although the interference between an ACK signal and a NACK signal degrades the detection performance. This causes a serious detection performance gap between the ACK signals and the NACK signals since there are more ACK signals in PUCCH than NACK signals in general cases. In this paper, we propose a novel scrambling structure for PUCCH which can solve the detection performance gap between the ACK signals and the NACK signals, and simulation evaluations show the proposed scrambling structure can significantly improve the detection performance of the NACK signals via PUCCH.
