Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Reed-Solomon-Convolutional Concatenated Codes is used by the digital terrestrial broadcasting standard of Japan (ISDB-T). This paper presents an iterative decoding algorithm for concatenated codes consisting of a Reed-Solomon and a convolutional code, focusing on the code of the ISDB-T standard. A new procedure is proposed to define the feedback signal from the output of the Reed-Solomon decoder to the input of the convolutional decoder that provides a significant improvement over existing solutions. Simulations show that proposed algorithm provides large reductions in the bit error rate compared with the classic decoder(e.g. about 0.47dB at BER=10^<-4> for the fifth iteration).
