Dual Drive & Emission Panels and Its Application to Flexible Substrate

Abstract(in English) We have investigated Dual Drive & Emission (DDE) panels with a bottom emission type (BE) and a top emission type (TE) organic light emitting diodes, which is useful for emissive double-faced panels displaying different images, and also fabrication of DDE on flexible substrate. Device structure was Glass or polyethylene naphthalate (PEN)/ITO/TAPC (50nm)/CBP+Ir(ppy)_3 [100:5] (30nm)/BCP (20nm)/LiF (1nm)/AlNd (70nm)/LiF (1nm)/BCP (20nm)/CBP+Ir(ppy)_3 [100:5] or CBP+FIrpic [100:6] (30nm)/TAPC (50nm)/MoO_3 (10nm)/Au (10nm). Brightness of over 60,000cd/m^2 and symmetric emissions were obtained from the both sides of DDE panels. In addition, we have fabricated the DDE on flexible substrate, such as PEN. We obtained independent emission from both sides for flexible DDE panels.
