Abstract(in English) | If we can freely change the range where the electromyogram is induced by surface electrodes, we can use the surface electromyogram for more applications. As the basics of such expansion, it is necessary to clarify the relation between the range of inducement by the surface electrode and the electrode spacing of the bipolar electrodes. Generally, in the measurement of surface electromyogram, it is said that we can lead the signal of the muscle in deep position if electrode spacing becomes wide. However, there are few examples which really showed the relation between the range of inducement by the surface electrode and the electrode spacing by actual data. The aim of this study is to examine relations between the range of inducement and the electrode spacing by using the electromyogram from the ulnar flexor muscle of wrist and the musculus flexor digitorum profundus. We used the array electrode which placed 15 silver lines(diameter: 1mm, length: 10mm, spacing: 5mm). With this electrode, we measured unipolar lead electromyograms and stored in a PC. And we calculated bipolar lead signal in any electrode spacing from five to 70mm in a PC. With these signal, we examined the relation between the electrode spacing and the amplitude of the signal. The results show that the signal amplitude grew if electrode spacing became wide. And it is also clear that there was the zone that signal amplitude did not increase even if the electrode spacing became wide. This result tells us that there is no muscle in the zone in spite of wide lead area. |
