Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Discrete Fourier transform has been conventionally carried out for evenly spaced time series. However, we face many unevenly spaced time series, such as heart rate variability. In order to Fourier transform such time series data, cubic spline interpolation is firstly performed and evenly resample it. And then FFT is applied. The present paper proposes a new method, which provides the Fourier transform for unevenly spaced time series. Since the proposed method uses a regression analysis, we obtain Fourier coefficients and its confidential intervals simultaneously.
