Abstract(in English) | A transparent Kana characters board is used to communicate with the severe physically disabled. In this method, the characters board is placed between the disabled person and the care-giver. The care-giver estimates the letter which the disabled person gazes, and moves the board until the letter is found out. Based on this method, we have developed an eye transfer communication system using a virtual transparent display panel on PC. In our system, a web camera is used to get the image of eyes and the position of pupil is calculated by the image processing to estimate the direction which the disabled person gazed. The virtual transparent display panel is moved like the transparent Kana character board. The system used a blink as a selection signal. |
