Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Out-of-head sound localization systems with stereo earphones can make the listeners believe that they are in the primary sound field; concert hall or musical hall. To realize an excellent sound image localization system, it is necessary to equalize the inverse Ear Canal Transfer Functions (ECTF). This paper clarifies the effectiveness of ECTF equalization, in terms of the perceived out-of-head sound location, as related to frequency bandwidth. We perform hearing tests to determine the impact of ECTF equalization using four different frequency bandwidths. The results suggest that ECTF equalization was effective if the frequency bandwidth was 11kHz or more.
