Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Motion of a microdroplet, with approximate radius of 10μm, is determined by the surface tension and the viscosity rather than the gravity and inertia. The characteristic time scale of the macroscopic behavior of the microdroplet is in the order of a few micro seconds. A new experimental setup of generating droplets was invented. This technique can be applied to the liquid manipulation system for various fields and the measurement of fluid rheologies. In this paper, the behavior of microdroplet of polymer solution was investigated. The relation between the result and polymer entanglement was also discussed.
