Automated Routing Method for Multi-Layer SFQ Circuits

Abstract(in English) Recently, a lot of researches on designing digital circuits using Single Flux Quantum (SFQ) logic circuits have been carried out. SFQ circuits have the characteristics such as the logical expression with pulses and fast switching speed. Therefore, it is difficult to obtain a circuit with a high performance by the conventional design system for semiconductor circuits. In the current design process, SFQ circuits are placed and routed manually with paying attention to timing adjustment. Device technology of the multilayer wiring process and Passive Transmission Line (PTL) is being established, and the development of the design system for SFQ circuits is hoped for the quick and precise designing of the large-scale circuits. In this paper, we propose an automated routing method using feedback between global and detailed routing. In the proposed method, the results of detailed routing are fed back to global routing to reflect accurate information of timing and layout. We have implemented the proposed routing method, and have measured the performance with some benchmarks. As a result, we can obtain reasonable layouts which meet the routing requirement.
