Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The two-dimensional (2D) communication system that is a novel technology allows the surface physical as a medium to provide data communication and power supply services to any device that placed on top of it. Up to now, there is no MAC protocol is suitable for 2D communication system. In this paper, therefore we propose a new protocol with a power supply control, called an adaptive power supply (APS) scheme, which enables a device to charge its own energy corresponding to the battery status in spite of the data communication with other devices. By using the QualNet simulator, we evaluate the performance of both protocols with and without APS scheme in term of network lifetime, goodput, and energy reception efficiency.
