Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) For evaluation of mobile broadband wireless access (MBWA), we use the Fast Low-latency Access with Seamless Hand-off Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (FLASH-OFDM). We have executed the field trial in urban area of Sendai city which have been placed three cells. This paper focuses on Signal-to-Noise ratio (SNR) and throughput performance of MBWA system of each base station antenna height in three places. The results show that it was greatly different in the average SNR from 5.1 to 12.5dB, and in the average throughput from 800 to 1400kbps depending on the antenna heights. Moreover, the area of the cell that the base station can communicate to a subscriber with a throughput of 1.5Mbps are 0.4km^2, 0.6km^2, and 1.7km^2 when the antenna heights are 19m, 58m, and 84m, respectively. Therefore, it is considered that the antenna height is a very important parameter when providing MBWA system to subscribers in an urban area.
