Proposal of SDM-WDM Parallel Transmission and study of SM Fiber Ribbons for High-speed Access Networks

Abstract(in English) High-speed transmission in LAN and access networks has been extensively investigated, such as 100GbE for LAN. By comparison of SDM systems with TDM and WDM systems, we propose SDM-WDM parallel optical fiber transmission systems for applying high-speed access networks. A fiber skew in a single-mode fiber ribbon has been studied. Considering the measured skew values of fiber ribbons, possible transmission distance has been estimated when using skew compensation circuits.
