Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) is mainly used for call controls of many services over IP network. SIP messages are often routed through SIP proxy servers (SIP Server) for accounting and communication control. However, the SIP servers are fixed after establishing a session. Therefore, the SIP servers must continue to process the SIP messages of the session until the end of it. Hence, it raises the cost of SIP servers due to the necessity of redundancy mechanisms and high performances. In addition, operators have to wait until all sessions are finished before the SIP server is turned off for a maintenance. In this paper, we focus on switching SIP server and propose the Network-controlled SIP server switching methods for the active sessions in order to solve the above problems. Further, we implement and evaluate our proposed methods and show the performances.
