Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In multi-hop wireless networks such as mobile ad hoc networks, broadcasting using flooding causes significant packet loss and battery power consumption, which is referred to as the broadcast storm problem. In order to resolve the problem, we apply network coding, which can reduce the number of relayed packets by encoding several packets into a single packet at intermediate terminals. We propose a broadcasting system with multi-source network coding, where several packets independently transmitted from different source terminals are encoded. Simulation experiments show that the proposed system reduces the number of relay packets significantly and improves the packet loss probability and the average delay of unicast flows in the network.
