Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper discusses how packet transfer is restarted after the intermission of the packet transfer sessions in MM-MAN (Mobile Multimedia Metropolitan Area Network). MM-MAN which the authors have been studying is a micro-cellular network of which cells are deployed along major roads in metropolitan areas, and allows high bit rate packet transfer even to fast movers. The authors expect MM-MAN to be a component network of the 4G mobile network. The 4G network is generally accepted to be a synthetic network of various kinds of sub- networks. In spite of the movement of the target MT during the intermission, the network should quickly start packet transfer when the call originates. This paper proposes use of paging function to make contact with the lost terminal for the session restart. The paging network must be one of the fundamental functions in the 4G system for the call termination among all component networks. It uses dynamically-defined alias for the paging from the views of security and quick response.
