Abstract(in English) One of the useful methods for stabilizing field emission current in field emitter arrays (FEAs) is to control them using field effect transistors (FETs) connected in series. However, one cannot use conventional FETs, because the electron extraction voltage (typically hundreds of volts) of FETs is much higher than the permitted source-drain voltage of FETs. To solve this problem, we proposed a structure of field emitter (FE) with a surrounding electrode. The paper discusses the mechanism for the current stabilization of the field emission current by using FE with the surrounding electrode.
